Serrano de Haro. "García-Baró: Teoría fenomenológica de la verdad"

Hace poco más de dos meses apareció un breve y juicioso texto en versión inglesa del profesor Serrano de Haro haciendo una valoración filosófica titulada: "Miguel García-Baró: Teoría fenomenológica de la verdad. Comentario continuo a la primera edición de Investigaciones lógicas, de Edmund Husserl", publicada en: Continental Philosophy Review December 2012, Volume 45, Issue 4, pp 609-612.

"This singular work of first philosophy bears the descriptive subtitle ‘‘Continuous commentary on the first edition of Logical Investigations, by Edmund Husserl.’’ But the philosophical aspirations of its author as well as the real content of the book and the theoretical value it reaches therein are better described, without any doubt, in the ambitious general title. The work constitutes indeed a complete commentary on the famous ‘‘Prolegomena to pure logic,’’ within a wider project of textual analysis of the whole work of 1900–1901 in its original version. With extraordinary zeal Garcıía-Baró commits himself to that first edition which Husserl in fact never again allowed to be reprinted without first making very significant modifications, and so for that reason until quite recently it had disappeared also from most translations. The commentator, in a virtuous sense which seemed altogether lost from our cultural practices, provides also a Spanish translation of all the original fragments which were afterwards suppressed or suffered serious alterations. Nevertheless, as I began saying, the reader finds himself confronted here with a direct inquiry into the phenomenon of truth, with a renewed investigation on ‘‘the double question: what is truth and how it is lived?’’Paradoxical as it may sound, the acute commentary on the centenarian work has an amazing air of innovation.(...)"
